Company Background

Pohaku Plumbing began as a start-up business in 2001 founded by Christopher Jenkins and Brenda Biehler Turville. We eventually became an incorporated company in 2004.

Our company has been serving residences and commercial establishments for more than 17 years now. We chose the Hawaiian word “Pohaku,” which means stone or rock, as part of our company name as we strive to keep our reputation rock solid through our exceptional plumbing services. Moreover, we are fully insured and have licenses for both plumbing and fire protection services.

About the Founders

Christoper Jenkins

Prior to starting the business, Christopher Jenkins, the company president, master plumber, and Responsible Managing Employee (RME), owned and operated a company named Advanced Plumbing in Ventura, California. He has been in the plumbing industry for more than 50 years.

Mr. Jenkins started his plumbing career at a young age. He quickly rose in the industry, becoming a journeyman plumber in his prime. The now master plumber has always had a great mind and tremendous skills for solving plumbing dilemmas.

Chris is licensed in the State of Hawaii as a Master Plumber, and a Contractor both in Plumbing and Fire Protection.

Chris is best-known for his quick wits, his ability to figure out difficult plumbing situations, and his skilled workmanship in his trades. He is also considered as the “go-to plumbing expert” on the island by fellow contractors and plumbers in the area.

Brenda Biehler Turville

Brenda Biehler Turville is the company’s vice president and secretary. She has been in the plumbing and fire protection industries for many years.

Brenda grew up in a family familiar with the trade of plumbing. Her maternal grandfather and uncle would often have her helping out in their shop at an early age. She started working for her grandfather’s plumbing company in 1966. After her move to Kauai in 1987, Brenda worked at Ironwood Plumbing for more than two years before co-owning another plumbing company of her own in 1989. In 2001, Christopher and Brenda decided to form Pohaku Plumbing, which later became Pohaku Plumbing, Inc.
